PRELIMINARY EXERCISES

Competition Poster

To bring some fun to the lockdown period, my school hosted a poster competition. The aim was to produce a poster as if a film is being produced around the lockdown and to add dramatisation to make it interesting. My poster is for a thriller and action film, much like my own A2 project.

Practice Poster
To get a stronger understanding of what we would need to produce for our promotion package, as a group we worked together to produce a poster. For this poster, we wanted to experiment with the conventions of a poster to create an interesting and engaging poster that will engage an audience. The main splash of the poster features three stoic looking characters looking off into the distance, this positions the characters in a position of superiority to the audience as well as establishing them as the heroes. The main title below in large text to catch the audience's attention, below "it's running out" a play-on-words to add fluidity to the two lines of text. As well as this the tagline teases action, drawing the audience in to watch the film and find out what happens.

IDENT

To add Realism to my projects I went about creating an ident for a production company that I would call my own. Above is the first ident I created for my production company PSYX Media Productions. I created it using Photoshop and applying an ultra key effect in Premiere Pro. It featured its first and final appearance in my AS project 'Duty Calls'.

This is the second generation ident I have created for PSYX Media Productions. I made it by using Adobe Dimensions, a simple 3D rendering software. The font being used is Nexa Bold, the text has been given a metallic finish and studio lighting is the light source. I tested many different iterations but came to the conclusion that a simpler ident would mean the audience would be able to identify it easier.

Using Premiere Pro, I created a transition for the ident to appear through.
